Original Special Infected

The Special Infected are notorious for the extreme mutations as opposed to their Common Infected counterparts. While Left 4 Dead 2's final release has different Special Infected designs, Left 4 Dead 1's Special Infected appearances were still present in the Left 4 Dead 2 E3 Demo, most likely due to decisions of updated designs being unfinished.

Did You Know

Despite the consistency of Special Infected designs between Left 4 Dead 1 and the Left 4 Dead 2 Beta, Valve changed their appearances to better reflect the heated southern environment in which the sequel surrounds itself. For example, the Hunter can still be seen with its signature hoodie, however, with torn-up sleeves and boiled hands.
